Locket
Savannah, GA — February 2026
During my SCAD Studio One class I made a bird-skull–inspired locket combining sculptural form with function: a discreet rear tube for a cigarette and a hidden hinge revealing a small ash tray.

Design notes
Bird-skull silhouette shapes the front profile and internal volume, blending jewelry and miniature artifact.
Rear tubing is integrated to preserve an elegant silhouette while adding utility.
Hidden hinge opens to a shallow, heat-resistant ash tray; proportions balance wearability and function.
Tab-set turquoise provides a focal accent against silver and copper; patina adds depth and an aged, archaeological feel.
Process highlights
Anticlastic forming created curved, bone-like tension without casting.
Precise soldering joined tubing, hinge, and structure while keeping fine edges.
Tab setting secured the stone for daily wear; selective polish and patina emphasized form and function.
The piece sits between jewelry, wearable object, and miniature vessel—exploring form, utility, and material contrast.
